Walking through the Historic Centre of Partenkirchen, each step leads you further into long ago times. Follow the tracks of the fresco painter Heinrich Bickel who decorated the „Fraundorfer“ Inn at Ludwigstraße with a gorgeous typical country wedding. Nearby, you will also find the local Werdenfels Museum. Miraculously, the former merchant’s building was not impaired by the Big Blaze of 1865. Nowadays, history and ancient customs of the Werdenfels Region are exhibited in the five-storyed house.

Those who live and work here say that you don’t really need to explain where the Jeker quarter is: Once you’re there, you’ll know. This is where the locals stroll the streets at their leisure, students read in the park, and you can spend a whole Sunday on a café terrace, a wisp of jazz music in the air in the background, and never get bored. The Jeker quarter is nestled between the old city walls and centuries-old houses, bordered by the green of the city park. Although people have lived here for centuries, no one has ever explored it all. And right through the middle of it, that impudent little river, the Jeker, flows brazenly on. The quaint streets, stately homes, and idyllic parks have everything to make history come alive, while the rich student life, mix of young and old, culinary highlights, and abundant art and culture pull you back to the present.

The historic Ex-USS Kittiwake became a home to sponges, Goliath groupers, urchins and squirrelfish since its sinking in 2011. Over the years, the underwater wreck has blossomed into a beautiful and dynamic artificial reef — the perfect refuge for marine life. Divers of all skill levels, as well as snorkellers, explore the shipwreck with ease, as it is only 17 metres (55 feet) deep.

Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade's most renowned summer resort, has transformed from an island to a peninsula, becoming the city's largest and most picturesque recreational spot. The Savsko lake is encircled by over 7 km of Blue Flag-awarded beaches, offering myriad ways to enjoy hot summer days. In summer, Ada Ciganlija turns into a bustling hub, attracting over 100,000 visitors daily (up to 300,000 on weekends) for swimming, sports, or leisurely afternoons in beachside cafés. In contrast, autumn and winter bring a quieter atmosphere, with a scenic promenade lined by cafés and nightclubs, although the lake's ice is too thin for skating. With more than 50 open-air sports facilities, including a golf course and cable-ski circuit, as well as courts and pitches for various sports and extreme activities like bungee-jumping and paintball, there's no shortage of action. The area's restaurants offer traditional city fare, particularly fish specialities, while bars and floating river clubs provide vibrant nightlife.
