This educational museum tells the fascinating story of silk - from silk worms to finished product (some exquisite exhibits are on display), with demonstration of traditional weaving techniques. Admission is free, and explanations in English are provided.

Not far from the Brandenburg Gate you'll the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial. It is a grid of stelae (2,711 concrete slabs) on a sloping field accessible from all sides. It serves as a central place of remembrance and admonition and is supplemented by an underground information centre, containing the names of all known victims and details on the places of horror.

As one of the most beautiful Renaissance buildings in Germany, Leipzig’s old town hall is well worth a visit. It is located on the market square of the city and, since 1909, not only offers a great photo opportunity, but also an interesting exhibition about the city’s history from the middle age until our recent and modern time.
