Originally built in 1828, this iconic beacon was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Now operated by the United States Coast Guard, the lighthouse continues its vital role in navigation while offering visitors stunning views of the coastline and nearby islands.

LxFactory is an art centre with a strong industrial feel in the Alcântara district of Lisbon. Located on the grounds of one of the most significant textile factories dating back to mid-19th century, this complex of hipster delights boasts galleries, shops, restaurants and performance spaces. Slightly off the beaten track, but an absolute must-visit if you want to experience the more alternative and young side of Lisbon.

The museum’s first building has three levels to show you how the cavalry developed throughout history. Here you can enjoy a permanent exhibition of handheld firearms, paintings, and miniatures. The second museum building exhibits a large part of the collection of historical cavalry vehicles. There are also temporary exhibitions here, on changing cavalry-related topics.
