Teno Rural Park is located near the charming villages of El Palmar, Teno Alto, Los Carrizales, Las Portelas, and Masca. The region is an enclave of remarkable natural beauty, where serenity and tranquility prevail. The park offers visitors an excellent setting for a wide array of outdoor activities for the adventurous at heart. The drive to reach this destination is nothing short of breathtaking, offering awe-inspiring scenery. There is no admission fee to the park, and parking is usually easy. If your plan is hiking from Masca, it is best to explore public transport options or take for a taxi.

Due to the tropical climate and fertile soils, the rainforests of Samoa are a lush and vibrant paradise. Native wildlife such as seabirds, skinks, flying foxes, geckos, as well as a plethora of unique flora call the forests home. Le Pupu-Pue National Park on Upolu is one of the best with extensive walking tracks and a listed 42 bird species. Tafua Peninsula Rainforest Reserve, in the southeast, is another bird watchers haven where you may see the rare Samoan tooth-billed pigeon. In the Falealupo Rainforest Reserve, take the treetop canopy walkway built about 40 metres above the ground among giant Banyan trees!

This mansion, built in 1521, was designed to protect governor Ponce de León, who, ironically, never lived there. The Spanish militia seized the house in 1779. Almost 100 years later, the U.S. military took it over and kept it until 1966, after which it was transformed into a museum.

Only four miles east of the cruise ship pier, Burwood is a public beach with a range of basic amenities including restrooms, lounge chairs and gazebos. The beach may get busy at times, but it's a great place to relax under the shade of tropical trees, or enjoy some beach sports such as volleyball or snorkeling.
