It’s the wreck of the DC-3 shot down in the 1950s and rediscovered at the bottom of the sea in 2003. In the Flight Lab, you can try being a pilot. You’ll have an exciting day with lots of fun for the whole family. The museum is open all year round and have free admission.

Originally built to house all offices of the Communist ruling officers during Ceausescu’s regime, the imposing Palace of Parliament is Romania’s most famous building. Tours are open to the public, showing off the opulent staircases and chandelier-filled rooms and offering great insight into the building's history. The palace also houses Romania's National Museum of Contemporary Art. There are tours available all year round; however, it's essential to reserve your tour slot beforehand, as advance booking ensures availability for this captivating experience.

Gabhla is one of the lesser-known islands. Long uninhabited, interest was revived recently, particularly among rock climbers and birdwatchers. An off the beaten track walk brings visitors to a lake with abundant bird life; cormorants, razorbills, guillemots as well as gannets and kittiwakes. Somewhere this peaceful, you may feel as though you've been transported to another world - but the island is in fact only 2km from Gweedore, with ferries departing from Magheragallan (Machaire Gathlan).
