The Studebaker National Museum dives into the history of the iconic Studebaker Corporation, showcasing more than 120 vehicles, from early carriages to classic American automobiles. Don’t miss the presidential car collection, including the car that carried Abraham Lincoln.

Square Mathon is for those who are interested in taking a glimpse into the past. The square is where some of the remaining pieces of the old Brest city wall and the ancient gate are contained; there is also a stone-carved map that shows the city the way it once was.

These romantic 19th-century landscaped gardens are free to visit and offer spectacular views of Porto, Gaia, and the Douro River. Spend some time wandering the maze-like gardens, populated with luscious trees and flowers, take a couple of pictures, and then stop by one of the many fountains to admire the free-range peacocks.

The narrow, winding streets that tether the Citadel of Bonifacio together are a pleasing reminder of Medieval engineering and architecture that culminates in the surprisingly efficient and practical design of the fortress. At the entrance to the Genoese inspired walled town lies the imposing Bastion de l’Étendard, protruding from the cliff face to visibly demonstrate the military capabilities of the fortified stronghold which had in the past been the muster point for troops protecting the city. Scale the steep staircase from the Marina, cross the drawbridge of the Porte de Gênes and pass through the adjoining museum to get a sense of what life was like on the cliffs of Corsica hundreds of years ago.
