Founded in 1364, this is one of the oldest universities in Europe, and it can boast names like Nicolaus Copernicus and Pope John Paul II among its alumni. Bournemouth Pier stands as a historic testament to the town’s Victorian-era origins as a seaside resort. While there has been a pier at Bournemouth since 1856, the structure that graces the shoreline today, stretching over 304 metres, was completed in the early 20th century. Hanbury Hall, built in 1701 by Thomas Vernon, is a beautiful country house with an incredible garden and park. Inside the property there is a mix of interior design, from restored Hercules rooms and recreated Gothic corridors to stunning staircase and wall-paintings by Sir James Thornhill.

This museum is a smaller branch of the one located on the Grand Turk island, but plans are being made to expand its size, collection and exhibition spaces. It now hosts different anchors that belonged to centuries-old ships and a 1700s cannon, as well as a reproduction of a 1800s home and two examples of a Caicos Sloop, the signature vessel of the island.
