In and around Säfsen, there are 175 lakes, ponds and streams offering fantastic fishing opportunities all year round. Here, the seasoned sport fisher finds new challenges, and beginners can easily take their first step into fishing. There's also accessibility for anglers with disabilities. The Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro was built in 330 BC and renovated for the 1896 Olympic Games. It is the world's oldest stadium which is still in use, and the only one in the world entirely built in white marble. It is from here that the Olympic Flame is delivered to all the Olympic games.

The Southampton Hall of Aviation (Solent Sky) depicts the history of aviation in the Solent area with a collection of authentic aircrafts dating back primarily to the 20th century. It houses a Spitfire and a Sandringham Flying Boat, among others. Many exhibits were produced locally.

Dominating the city skyline, you can’t fail to notice it: the Imperial Castle. At the time of the Holy Roman Empire, the castle was occasionally home to each of the emperors, and in the Middle Ages, it was one of the most important royal palaces. The sights here include the new castle museum, the palace with the emperor’s living quarters, the Romanesque Double Chapel, the Deep Well and the Sinwell Tower. The neighbouring garden is a must-see too. It might be small, but it’s a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city and is popular with residents too. The castle's garden is open from April to October.
