Comprised of a church, a convent, and a cloister, the Convent of the Jacobins houses the remains of its patron, St Thomas Aquinas. Its stunning walls and ceiling provide a beautiful backdrop for concerts and exhibitions that are regularly hosted in the building. If you only have time to visit one church in the city, this should be it.

The Natural History Museum of Clermont-Ferrand presents a fascinating collection centering around the natural heritage of the region. Named in tribute to the French botanist Henri Lecoq, this place is an opportunity to discover all kinds of animal and plant species on an exciting journey through the history of the city. Temporary exhibitions and workshops are also regularly organised.

As Port Zante is located right in Basseterre's city centre, getting there by ferry or taxi is relatively easy. There are also mini vans called "route taxis" If you are going to Port Zante in a route taxi, look for one that has "Basseterre" written on the front sign. Once you board the minibus, you can tell the driver that you want to go to Port Zante. The minibus will drop you off at the bus terminal in downtown Basseterre, and from there it's just a 10-minute walk to Port Zante. You can ask locals for directions or follow the signs to the cruise ship terminal. The Sabarmati Ashram, also known as Mahatma Gandhi's home, is where the Father of the Nation lived from 1917 to 1930. It was from this location that Gandhi, accompanied by 78 followers, embarked on the historic Salt March to the coast of Gujarat in 1930, in a symbolic act of defiance against British salt taxes. Today, the Ashram is a serene place housing a museum dedicated to Gandhi, with adjacent gardens offering a peaceful oasis by the Sabarmati River.
