For a taste of nature just outside the city, hiking up Wutong Mountain is a favourite among locals and visitors alike. The mountain offers a range of trails, so whether you’re an experienced hiker or just looking for a scenic stroll, there’s something for every fitness level. The effort is well worth it when you’re rewarded with sweeping views of Shenzhen—and on clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Hong Kong in the distance. While the hike is the main attraction, make sure to explore the Hongfa Temple, one of the largest and most revered in Shenzhen, as well as the botanical garden nestled in the mountain’s foothills, where you can relax and immerse yourself in lush greenery.

Explore the cultural and historical treasures of the Filipino people from the 17th century onwards at this museum. With its vast collection of paintings and Filipino artefacts, you can easily spend hours delving into the country's rich culture and history. Be sure not to miss 'The Story of the Filipino People' film and the Spoliarium by Juan Luna, the largest painting in the Philippines, measuring 4.22 metres by 7.675 metres.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a sprawling cultural park in East Jakarta that brings the whole country together in one place. Each province has its own pavilion built in traditional style, complete with crafts, costumes, and exhibits that show off local life. There’s even a lake shaped like the Indonesian archipelago, in addition to museums to wander through and a cable car that gives a great view of it all. It’s a fun way to get a feel for Indonesia’s diversity without leaving the city.

At night, the Parque de la Reserva comes alive with a magical show of water, music and light put on by thirteen cybernetic fountains. The shows take place from Tuesday to Sunday at 7:15pm, 8:15pm, and 9:30pm. There is a small entry fee and it is advised to bring a plastic bag along so you can keep your belongings dry. A must-see attraction especially if you are traveling with kids.
