Loveland Castle, also known as Château Laroche, is a full-scale medieval-style castle built single-handedly by Harry D. Andrews, a World War I veteran, starting in the 1920s. Constructed using stones from the Little Miami River and bricks molded from quart milk cartons, Andrews dedicated over 50 years to this labor of love. When you visit, you can wander through the castle’s towers and narrow halls, check out some old-school medieval weapons, and just soak in the quirky, one-of-a-kind vibe. It's a fun and odd little stop with beautiful gardens and a peaceful riverside spot to hang out afterward.

Ban Jelačić Square is the heart of Zagreb and a popular meeting spot. This pedestrian area is surrounded by buildings of different architectural styles and features the Manduševac fountain. A statue of Ban Josip Jelačić, whose square is named after, on a horse dominates the square.

In addition to being the centre for Bucharest’s intellectual and political events and the most popular meeting place in the city, the University of Bucharest has a dramatic history. During the 1989 Revolution, some of Romania’s fiercest fighting took place here. Close by you can find the University of Bucharest’s School of Architecture, the National Theatre, the Coltea Hospital and the Sutu Palace History Museum. A Christmas market is held at the University Square every year, but you can find excellent restaurants and cafes in the area all year round.

Simply stroll through the city centre and you learn a lot about the town’s history. Habsburg emperor Maximilian I (1459–1519), in particular, shaped the image of Innsbruck during its transition from medieval times to the Renaissance era. He made the city the centre of an empire that stretched from Spain to Burgundy and Hungary. It was under Maximilian’s reign that Innsbruck’s glittering landmark – the Golden Roof - was constructed.
