Build your own raft out of timber and rope and let it take you downstream along the serene Ume River. Experience nature up close and personal. Let the endlessly bright summer nights of the north create a lifetime memory. Feel free to go ashore whenever you wish, wander through the forest, or rest in a picturesque clearing. Pull up on a beach for a swim, or fish whenever the mood strikes. Your guide will assist in building the raft. Choose to embark on a one, two, or seven-day rafting adventure. Sleep on the raft or in a tent, and if you like, a box packed with typical Västerbotten food can be provided for you. You'll cook your own meals over an open fire or on a portable stove.

Explore the history of aviation at this aircraft museum, which is home to jetfighters, helicopters and engines as well as displays depicting World War II on the home front. This museum, located less than 5 minutes’ drive from Junction 3 on the M18, is open every day except Monday, so find a couple of hours to visit it and you won´t regret it!

In Belém (situated west of the city along the river) lies Lisbon’s, and possibly Portugal’s, most important historical monument. Here you can see an opulent church and cloistered garden built in the elegant Manuelian style at the beginning of the 16th century, when Portugal was a great seafaring power. Located in the suburb of Grenoble, this villa was built in 1855 in a pure Arabo-Andalusian style. The oldest historic monument made with moulded cement is unique with its columns, its fountains and its statues. You can also see seven sundials.
