Towering over the Haga neighbourhood, in central Gothenburg's southern part, you can find one of the city's two remaining forts. It was built in 1698 to protect Gothenburg from possible Danish attacks, which fortunately never happened. Although there is no access inside the fort, it's still worth your time since the view over the city is spectacular from the hill where it's beautifully located.

Every summer and winter the Ringlinien trams, dating back to 1900–1960, run from the Central Station to the Liseberg amusement park, allowing visitors to experience the city on board a vintage tram.

The R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant is a striking art deco facility on the Toronto lakefront, operating since 1941. Often called the “Palace of Purification,” it supplies nearly half of the city’s drinking water. The architecture is grand and meticulously preserved, with marble walls, bronze fixtures, and cavernous interior halls. The plant has served as a filming location for numerous movies and television shows, often depicted as a dramatic institutional or sinister headquarters. While the buildings are typically closed to the public, the grounds remain accessible year-round. Visitors can stroll the landscaped areas, enjoy views of Lake Ontario, or relax near the beach. The site offers a quiet escape with a timeless atmosphere, ideal for walking, picnicking, or simply pausing by the water.

The Renaissance Château de Wiltz is no longer its original 13th-century incarnation, but a beautifully reconstructed building that contains a museum dedicated to the Battle of the Ardennes, as well as an unlikely Beer & Tanney Museum (guided tours on request), with a functioning microbrewery and an impressive collection of bottles.
