Previously known as Bass River Lighthouse, the tower was built in 1853 atop a large keeper's house and represents one of the first examples of "Cape Cod style" lighthouses. Whit its range of 12 miles and a white light flash every 6 seconds, it has been operating constantly for almost half a century since it was constructed. Now is the venue of a seasonal hotel called At the Lighthouse Inn.

Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary in Navasota (approximately 30-40 minutes from Montgomery) is dedicated to rescuing and providing lifelong care for wolves and wolfdogs that cannot be released back into the wild. Many of these animals come from difficult backgrounds, but at the sanctuary, they receive the loving, compassionate care they deserve in a stable, nurturing environment. Saint Francis also focuses on educating the public about the challenges facing wolves and wolfdogs, while dispelling common myths about these incredible creatures. A magnificent part of California's natural history since its discovery in 1885, Mercer Caverns is home to a wealthy variety of natural cave formations. Visitors are invited to take a tour of the caverns and view a variety of stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, columns, flowstone, helictites, and soda straws. Gaze upon delicate aragonite crystal formations at one of the cavern's deepest points, for which Mercer Caverns won a Grand Prize at the 1900 Paris World Exposition.
