Perched on a hill and designed by the famous architect, Sigfrid Ericson, Masthugget Church is a striking landmark that holds both historical and architectural significance. It was built in 1914, and it represents the National Romantic style in Nordic architecture. It serves as a place of worship, as well as a cultural and community hub, hosting concerts and events. Due to its position, it also offers a panoramic view of the city and its harbour.

The grandiose Piazza Pretoria captivates with its fountain, spreading proudly in front of Palazzo Pretorio (City Hall) as one of the major symbols of Palermo. The Pretoria Fountain was sculpted by Francesco Camilliani in 1574 and initially placed in Florence for a few years. It was then bought by the municipality and transported to Palermo. The fountain is a true masterpiece and is considered one of the most beautiful fountains in Italy. The nude figures adorning the fountain have got the most prudish population in the city to nickname the square "Piazza della Vergogna", (Square of Shame).

Since its opening in 1989, the active worship site has drawn visitors with its striking architectural features, from the grand prayer hall altars to the tiered roofs adorned with intricate carvings. The temple is open to tourists, but expect devotees filling the temple, burning incense offerings and praying.
