Historic Ships in Baltimore, a National Historic Landmark, features five historic maritime artifacts: the USS Constellation, the last Civil War-era warship afloat; the USS Torsk, a Cold War submarine; the USCGC Taney, which survived the attack on Pearl Harbor; the Lightship 116 Chesapeake; and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, one of Baltimore’s oldest lighthouses. Visitors can explore these ships through guided tours, interactive exhibits, and even overnight adventures.

Portland’s Japanese Garden spans 5.5 acres and is often considered the finest of its kind outside Japan. This serene oasis features tranquil waterfalls, koi ponds, and lush greenery, providing a peaceful retreat year-round. The garden also hosts a charming café that offers traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, with tea and snacks imported directly from Japan.

Queensland Museum Tropics holds information about natural history, archaeology and history. At this museum, local history is put in a global context with world-class artefacts and replicas. Learn about the Mutiny on the Bounty, the story of the Pandora, the efforts of the Royal Navy to recover the 'pirated' ship and bring the mutineers to justice. One of our most popular areas for kids is the Enchanted Rainforest, which focuses on one of North Queensland’s most iconic ecosystems. Children can learn about rainforest plants and animals in a safe and fun environment.

The Green Lake is known as the Jade of the city. Two long dikes divide the lake into four parts. Brightly painted pavilions, tree-lined walks and exercising locals all add to the appeal of the park. During the winter months, black-headed gulls from Siberia migrate to Green Lake and entertain the crowds of visitors as they circle around and snap up bread fed to them by birdwatchers and visitors. There used to be a military school in the neighbourhood, where the famous Chinese generals Zhu De and Ye Jianying were educated in the 1910s.
