Many of Canal Street's historic buildings now house upscale hotels, such as the Ritz-Carlton, while the Shops at Canal Place offer a range of well-known brands. Canal Street also comes alive with parades during Mardi Gras and dazzles with stunning holiday lights during Christmas, making it a must-visit destination for travelers.

Biesanz Beach is tucked away not far from Manuel Antonio village. Not overrun by tourists, with locals offering drinks, kayaks, lounge chairs, restrooms and some snacks. The trail down to the beach is a bit rocky, so consider wearing stable shoes and not flip-flops. The beach has a quiet surf, perfect for swimming and relaxing. If you're lucky, you'll see sloths up in the trees.

Hawaii's capital, its largest city and the center of commerce, history and entertainment, is a true metropolis with Polynesian flavor.
