The National Anthropology Museum consists of permanent and temporary exhibitions of Mexican art, life and culture. Description texts and audio guides are available both in Spanish and in English making it easy for international travellers to learn about pre-Hispanic and contemporary history. Plan at least two hours to explore the thematic halls of this museum. There are enough exhibits to keep you coming back for days, though.

Hop aboard the Granite State Scenic Railway for a charming, 80-minute round-trip ride along the Pemigewasset River. Operating from late spring to fall, this vintage train takes you through a scenic wooded landscape, offering beautiful river views and a peek into New Hampshire's natural beauty. It's the perfect family-friendly outing, with themed rides like the Santa Express during the winter months.

Milan's architecture is not only neoclassical promenades, Gothic cathedrals and posh villas — Porta Nuova district is the new and modern revitalization project that has drastically changed the city. Take a walk around the Diamond Tower, the Unicredit Tower and many other glass and steel structures. The stars of the show here are the two skyscrapers known as Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest). Featured in all major architecture outlets, these residential towers have actual live trees growing on its facade. They look marvellously lush in the spring and summer and totally enchanting covered in snow and frost.

Sitting in the Gulf of Aqaba, Tiran Island isn’t open to the public —it’s a military zone—, but the real draw is what’s underwater. Most boat trips from Sharm stop at reefs around the island—Jackson, Gordon, Woodhouse—where the coral is alive, the fish are everywhere, and the current keeps things interesting. It’s a great day out if you want good snorkelling or diving away from the coast.
