A stroll around Björkholmen still gives you an insight into how it was in the 18th century. The Björkholmen part of the town can be seen as the other side of the tracks in relation to the parade buildings of Trossö. This is where the first shipyard workers and tradesmen lived in small, low cottages, that sometimes rested directly on the flat rock. The streets on Björkholmen are named after different types of ships and admirals. Enjoy the view over Saltsösund and passing boats.

Famous Greek monuments and splendid artworks from different historical periods are exhibited at The Archaeological Museum of Kos. The most extraordinary displays here include beautiful mosaics, statues from the ancient site of Asklepeion, an extensive collection of prehistoric pottery and metallic objects, exhibits from a tomb of a young athlete dating back to the 3rd century B.C, coins, anaglyphs with various representations and many other items.

Stortorget, the largest square in Karlskrona, stands proudly at the heart of Trossö island, forming the central hub of the city. The centrepiece is the statue of Karl XI, overseeing the bustling paved expanse. Two magnificent churches, Fredrikskyrkan (The Frederick Church) and Trefaldighetskyrkan (The Holy Trinity Church), also known as the German Church, add to the square's allure. Stortorget captivates visitors with its architectural splendour, and the surrounding pedestrian streets feature an array of restaurants and cafés.

At the heart of labyrinthian coves lies a secluded, grainy sand beach. To fully experience this otherworldly terrain, explore the rock tunnels and take a dip in the turquoise water.
