Sete Cidades Lagoon is the largest freshwater lake in the Azores, with a length of 4.2 km and a depth that reaches 33 meters. Declared one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal, it consists of two lakes - Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul (green lagoon and blue lagoon) - linked together and surrounded by a breathtaking scenery. Classified as Protected Landscape by Natura 2000, this natural wonder is surrounded by an extensive green area and beautiful rocky cliffs covered with trees and flowers.

Bear Valley Mountain and Village is a family-friendly skiing and snowboarding resort community located off of Scenic Highway 4. The sports and lodging hotspot is enveloped by both the Sierra Nevada mountain range and two of California's largest federally designated wilderness areas. The Union Station was completed in 1900 and functioned as a passenger terminal until 1979. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the landmark building experienced years of neglect until it was converted into an opulent hotel, detailed with wrought iron and Italian marble. Its lobby features a barrel-vaulted, 65-feet-high ceiling enclosed by stained glass. The station looks spectacular from the outside. If you're not staying at the hotel, you can still enjoy the interior while having drinks or dinner at Ergo restaurant, located inside this historic landmark. The Museum of Fine Arts (Beaux-Arts in French) of la Rochelle has a rich collection of art works. The beautiful museum is located in the centre of town and is well worth a visit. Here you can find art works by Eugene Fromentin, William Bouguereau and Camille Corot.
