Any road trip in Ireland will invariably pass through the Shannon region. Regularly hosting events like markets and historical re-enactments, the fort offers both a glimpse into the past and a vibrant contemporary experience for visitors.

Palazzo Madama is one of the historic buildings of Piazza Castello, together with the Royal Palace. The layers of history that from this palace are extraordinary. At the beginning of the first century BC, the site of the palace was occupied by a gate in the Roman city walls. The two restored towers still testify to this original nucleus. The back of the palace looks like a medieval stronghold, while the ornate facade was added by the Savoy family to better match the overall look of the square. Today it houses the Museum of Ancient Arts, with its impressive collection of paintings.

From a former transmission tower standing at a height of 92 metres, the futuristic Faro de Moncloa provides a breathtaking panoramic view of Madrid. On a clear day, you can observe the city's most notable landmarks and sights, and even catch a glimpse up to a hundred kilometres away. However, be advised that the tower may be closed during bad weather conditions.
