A bit outside Verona, but worth the trip if you’re into natural history. This small two-floor museum focuses on fossils from the nearby hills, which used to be a tropical sea. You’ll see fish, insects, plants, even reptiles—some surprisingly well-preserved. The collection isn’t huge, but it’s solid and well curated.

Drift along crystal clear waters, and keep an eye out for dolphins and whales. VMT Madeira arranges all sorts of trips, including a sunset sailing, which gives you the most stunning view of the setting sun over the Atlantic Ocean.

Miffy's traffic light is just a piece of the puzzle in this Dutch rabbit's world. To take a look at the whole picture, Miffy has her own dedicated museum in Utrecht since 2016. If you are visiting the city with kids, more specifically, toddlers and pre-schoolers, the Nijntje Museum is what you need. The museum consists of ten thematic spaces inspired by Dick Bruna's picture books, allowing children to interact with the world around them in an educational manner.

2009 saw Gamcheon turn from an area of budget housing for refugees of the Korean War into a premier tourist attraction, all thanks to a collective effort by local students and artists, who transformed the neighbourhood with colourful wall painting and street art. Today Gamcheon even has a tourist office of its own: stop by on your way in to pick up a detailed map of the village's attractions; collect a stamp at each and you'll receive a small prize from the tourist office on submission. There is a small museum telling the neighbourhood's story, and a number of shops, cafes and street food stalls.
