Home to a large Chinese population, it would be only appropriate for Lima to have its own version of a Chinatown. This is the place where visitors come to try the authentic Chifa, the Chinese-Peruvian fusion cuisine. However, keep in mind that this is not like your typical Chinatown: it is smaller, rather chaotic and somewhat rough around the edges. But if you feel like venturing into the hustle and bustle of this neighbourhood, you'll be rewarded with traditional dim sum, Peking duck and many other Asian delights.

In the 19th century, Corinto was a central element in the first projects by the Nicaraguan government to construct rail lines in the country. As a result, León and Corinto were among the first cities connected by rail, with the port as the terminus of the line. In today's Corinto, a well-kept locomotive bears witness to that era, standing adjacent to the Museo Municipal, where further relics are on display.

Exarcheia, Athens' anarchist neighbourhood, has seen the youth of the city rise up against power and injustice many times and unfortunately, it has been the theatre of political drama. Even though Exarcheia has kept intact its rebellious soul and keeps on its walls traces and street art as testimony of its agitated past, the area has softened a bit and has become somewhat hipster. It is a cool place to hang out, go for a walk, meet locals, and have a coffee or a drink around the main square.

After its opening in 1898, the Ferry Building became the transportation focal point. At its peak, as many as 50,000 people a day commuted by ferry. An elegant two-story public area with repeating interior arches and overhead skylights, the Ferry Building is a great place to be whether you're looking to dine, shop for fresh and local produce, or just look around. You'll find lots of delicious seafood restaurants along the back of the building where you can overlook the harbor. Don't miss Hog Island Oysters and Gott's Roadside. The farmers market takes place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. As a city committed to environmental sustainability, every vendor here has adopted a sustainable mission, and therefore, sells mostly organic products. Speaking of eco-friendly practices, the Ferry Building has been working closely with the transit authority to support the revitalization of the waterfront and the wildlife that resides in the bay.
