Jakarta Cathedral, officially known as The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, stands as a magnificent example of neo-Gothic architecture in the heart of Indonesia’s bustling capital. Completed in 1901, this remarkable cathedral is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of Jakarta's diverse cultural and religious heritage. Visitors can marvel at its intricate stained glass windows, towering spires, and the grand pipe organ that adds to its historic charm. Located opposite the Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, the cathedral highlights Jakarta’s unique juxtaposition of religious landmarks, reflecting the city’s spirit of tolerance and harmony.

The famous dunes have been a nature reserve since 1897, although scientists theorise they only date back to 1755 when a Lisbon-born tsunami hit Gran Cannaria. The Faro de Maspalomas, an active 19th century lighthouse, is a 68-metre tall man-made landmark. It stands proudly at the end of the spectacular 2,710-metre-long beach.

Lynden City Park is also known as Million Smiles Playground Park. It has been a place of enjoyment for decades, where everyone is welcomed to have fun. Favorite activities include hiking among the tall conifer trees, skipping rocks in Fishtrap Creek and picnicking with friends and family.

With cliffs sculpted by the sea and dotted by inlets (known as boka), Shete Boka National Park covers 10 kilometres of coastline at the northern tip of the island and is a perfect destination for lover of the great outdoors. There are several trails for hikers, but the park is also accessible by car. Highlights include the sea turtle nesting sites and an underground cavern.
