Standing on top of Corcovado Mountain, 710 meters above sea level, Christ the Redeemer overlooks the metropolis below with outstretched arms. The statue named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, embraces the whole city, welcomes and protects, yet appears to keep a watchful eye on locals and visitors. Venture up through the Tijuca Rain Forest to the top of the mountain for a closer look and be rewarded by fabulous views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, Copacabana, Ipanema, the Maracanã Stadium, and the Serra do Órgãos mountain range. You can hike up to the statue or comfortably reach it by way of a twenty-minute tram/car ride.

The Central Coast Aquarium has been providing a close look at marine life for visitors of all ages since 1994. With desires of cultivating ocean stewardship in the community, Central Coast provides opportunities for hands-on science and oceanic exhibits and programs. They invite everyone to 'dive in and connect below the surface.'

This beautiful botanical garden is located close to Lake Malta and is a great place to bring the children on a sunny day or your loved one for a romantic walk. If you are active, this is also a great place for a run.

Find tranquillity in seclusion at this 9-hectare uninhabited island, only a 5-minute ferry journey from Coliemore Harbour in Dalkey. Holy stones are dotted around the island, and the ruins of a 7th-century church remind us that this has long been a place of pilgrimage and spirituality. The island is believed to have been inhabited in the 4th millennium BC, as well as having seen Neolithic, Viking, and Medieval settlements. Today, the island is deserted, with wild goats roaming the land. The island is also a favourite of kayakers in the Dublin region.
