This pagoda was rebuilt after being destroyed in a World War II bombing. It was constructed at the same time as the Sule and Shwedagon Pagodas. What is unusual is that you can walk inside and look at relics in showcases.

Housed in a historic building, The Cinema Museum holds Spain’s first and most significant collection of cinematic history, thanks to the visionary Tomàs Mallol. Acquired by the city in 1994, his private collection forms the core of this public museum. It traces over 400 years of visual storytelling through 25,000 artefacts — from magic lanterns and zoetropes to early cameras and projectors — making it one of Europe’s most comprehensive archives on pre-cinema and early film. Beyond the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts temporary shows, educational workshops, and a specialised library. While some displays are labelled primarily in Catalan and Spanish, introductory materials are available in English, French and German.

Once a year, the city of Salé celebrates the birth of Muhammed (the prophet of Islam) with a Candles Convoy, also known as the Festival of Cierges. Accompanied by musicians and flag bearers, a long parade of men in colourful attire and carrying huge wax lamps comprised of thousands of sculpted and dyed pieces moves through the city's main streets to arrive at the Mausoleum of Sidi Abdallah Ben Hassoune, the city's saint.

The name of this massive, 38-metre-high cannon tower and museum of the town’s defences literally means “peek into the Kitchen". It was so high that Medieval guards joked they could see right down the chimneys and into the kitchens of the houses below. Make sure to pay a visit to the top floor cafe for beautiful Old Town views.
