Renowned throughout Europe, it has more than 2 km of fine golden sand. It has all the amenities needed to ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment: specially-equipped areas for disabled guests, sunbeds, wooden walkways, playground areas, beach library, foot showers, life guard service and first aid centre. This area of Benidorm is where most of the accommodation, restaurants and bars are located, and offers a huge range of entertainment during the day and night.

Picasso was born in Malaga, so it makes sense there’s a museum dedicated to him here. It’s inside a 16th-century palace, and the collection comes straight from his family — over 200 works, covering a bit of everything: painting, sketching, ceramics, even sculpture. Just around the corner at Plaza de la Merced, you can also visit the house where he was born.

The palace of the sultans with its many courtyards and gates brings on a nostalgia for forgone times. There are several special museums in the area; highlights include the Treasure Chamber, where the famous dagger and Spoonmaker's diamond are true stars of the collection, and the harem, where the sultan’s wives and children lived. None of these are included in the ticket price to the palace.

This non-profit institution comprises many talented artists and sculptors who have been adding to the cache of contemporary art in the Hague since 1847. Whereas the studio started as a workshop where artists could come together and share their work with other artists, it now hosts around sixty exhibitions every year, which are open to members of the association and the public upon request. It is advisable to contact the studio for more information about memberships and guest access as some events are listed as members only whilst others are available for everyone to enjoy. The café/restaurant area is a good place to start as it is open to the public during the daytime.
