The Albrecht-Dürer-Haus is one of the most famous museums and exhibitions in Nuremberg. Between 1509 and 1528, it was Albrecht Dürer’s home and workplace. Today, the building is both a memorial and a museum. The rooms feature period furnishings, and visitors can see a demonstration of the printing procedure used in Dürer’s lifetime in one of the bedrooms. The top floor, meanwhile, showcases copies of the artist’s works. The museum houses a variety of temporary exhibitions featuring original works. We highly recommend taking the guided tour with Agnes Dürer, wife of the famous artist. She gives a faithful account of what life was like 500 years ago.

The Newcastle Regional Museum gives a good overview of Newcastle’s history as the hub for the region’s mining and steel industry. Variety of exhibitions, including permanent and special ones, are of great interest to everyone. One of these exhibitions is the Supernova hands-on science centre, which is fun for the whole family. Don't forget to book your tickets in advance.

This creative hub hosts modern displays and is home to numerous local and international art installations, as well as performance events. Their Artist-in-Residence programme supports young talents in realising their projects, not to mention they're given a space for work and exhibitions.

A feat of Spanish colonial military architecture, the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas is one of Cartagena's most prized attractions. The fortress, whose construction finished in the late 18th century, was never seized — and not for a lack of attempted forays. Part of its sophisticated system of underground tunnels is open to the public. A guided tour (audio guides available) is highly recommended.
