For a taste of nature just outside the city, hiking up Wutong Mountain is a favourite among locals and visitors alike. The mountain offers a range of trails, so whether you’re an experienced hiker or just looking for a scenic stroll, there’s something for every fitness level. The effort is well worth it when you’re rewarded with sweeping views of Shenzhen—and on clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Hong Kong in the distance. While the hike is the main attraction, make sure to explore the Hongfa Temple, one of the largest and most revered in Shenzhen, as well as the botanical garden nestled in the mountain’s foothills, where you can relax and immerse yourself in lush greenery.

With a mix of architectural styles (with a heavy Gothic influence), this beautiful building is a must-see when in Rouen. Palais de Justice was restored after World War II, but is today just as glorious as it was in the 16th century. Entry isn't open to the public, but do pay a visit to the courtyard area.

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MaMa) opened its doors in 2007 and aims to preserve the region's cultural heritage, art and history. It supports locals artists by giving them a platform and invites visitors to take a closer look on contemporary works of art. Not only the exhibitions, but also the building, transformed from a department store to the museum it is today, make this place worth a visit.

This landmark monument can be seen in the city centre. The Tugu Pahlawan is a typical piece of grandiose post-independence Indonesian public art and was erected in memory of the independence fighters who fell in the Battle of Surabaya in November 1945.
