La Coruna’s coastline offers a stunning 30 kilometre stretch of sandy beaches. Playa de Riazor and Playa de Orzan are two protected beaches conveniently close to the city. In the summer, buses regularly go from the town centre to the fabulously sandy Playa de Baldaio.

Located in central Guangzhou about six kilometres west of the popular Tianhe area, Shameen Island has a great historical significance since it served as an important port for Guangzhou's foreign trade during Song and the Qing Dynasty. Today it is one of the most popular highlights in the city and offers enjoyable strolls among old European buildings and gardens in a more relaxed and quiet atmosphere.

The United States naval base at Pearl Harbor was surprised by a Japanese military strike on the morning of December 7, 1941: all eight U.S. Navy battleships were damaged, more than 2,000 Americans lost their lives, and this very attack led to the American involvement in World War II. Today, a memorial reminds of those who died in the assault, while two museums and outdoor exhibits present the historical happenings and their backgrounds. The visitor centre in general also features exhibits and interpretive programs for other Pacific National Parks: Kalaupapa National Historical Park on the island of Molokai, American Memorial Park in Saipan, and War in the Pacific National Historical Park in Guam.

Torre de Hercules might be the world’s oldest light house. It was built by the Romans in the 2nd century and is well worth a visit for those interested in learning more about the city's history and enjoying an excellent view over A Coruña.
