The Treasury exhibits valuable examples of sacred art: the large Romanesque painted crucifix from the 12th century, the painting of the Dead Christ — the work of Jacopo da Ponte Bassano, the large Renaissance crucifix from the 15th century, ancient liturgical vessels, precious illuminated codices and chorals, documents, incunabula, etc. The painted Ugljan polyptych from the 15th century is without any doubt the finest and the most representative example of the entire Gothic painting in Croatia.

Perhaps the city's most beautiful and ornate church, the Gothic temple Iglesia de San Pedro dates back to the 14th and 15th centuries and boasts several gorgeous doors, gates and chapels that showcase masterful craftsmanship.

Kunsthal Rotterdam is housed in a striking building designed in 1992 by Rotterdam architecture firm OMA/Rem Koolhaas. The Kunsthal always presents several exhibitions simultaneously, taking visitors on an exciting journey along various cultures and art movements. From modern masters and contemporary art to forgotten cultures, photography, fashion and innovative design.

Take a walk in the shoes of a local with one of Bilbao’s most popular hikes. Pagasarri, at 673 m, is one of the smaller mountains surrounding the city, and most locals have tackled it at least once. Buses from the city centre take you to starting points around Zabalburu or Peñascal. At the summit, there’s a bar selling bocatas—baguette sandwiches stuffed with tortilla de patata, txistorra, or chorizo. If you’re feeling ambitious, continue on to Ganekogorta at 998 m, just a bit further along the ridge, for more sweeping views of Bilbao and the surrounding hills.
