Constructed on the site of a former mosque from the Islamic city, this church dates back to between 1402 and 1417, according to the oldest documented evidence. Featuring a single nave design and side chapels nestled between buttresses, the original Gothic structure has undergone significant modifications due to restorations and extensions carried out between the 16th and 18th centuries. Notable elements within the church include a Renaissance presbyter, shaped like a triumphal arch, and the chapel dedicated to the Holy Family (1765-1766), which showcases the artistic influence of sculptor Francisco Salzillo. The main entrance of the church, adorned with the shield of the Catholic Monarchs at its peak, is in the Isabelline Gothic style. In contrast, the adjoining communion chapel exhibits a more Baroque aesthetic, featuring an entrance constructed between 1726 and 1735.

The Roman Baths in Varna are the third-largest Roman ruins in Europe and the largest in Bulgaria. Built in the II century AD, these impressive thermal baths were once a central part of Roman social life, where people gathered to bathe in both hot and freezing cold water. The site is well-preserved, easy to access, and offers an affordable entrance fee.

Field Manor is a living history museum that includes an 1880s homestead and a former orange grove. It was the first house to be built on Merritt Island and it aims to show visitors what pioneer living in Florida was like. They are open to historic tours and educational programs.

Located on the hills of Varna, the Monument of Bulgarian-Soviet Friendship is a striking example of communist-era architecture. Built to honour the Soviet Army on Turna Hill, the monument now serves as both a historical landmark and a scenic viewpoint. You can climb its 305 steps for one of the best panoramic views of Varna or even use the climb as a workout, just as many locals do.
