Some of the best snorkeling in the area is to be had at Coral Beach (some 20km west of Varadero), where the underwater world stuns with color and variety. Diving would require you to take about an hour-long boat trip out to one of the many sites around the peninsula. Many of the archipelago's islands are populated by giant Aldabra tortoises, and bird species number 250, 12 of those being unique to the islands. Mahe Island's Port Launay Marine National Park is the place to head for whale shark sightings, and Praslin Island is home to the country's national bird - the Seychelles black parrot. Cousine Island is where visitors are encouraged to take part in wildlife conservation projects (and spot free-roaming giant tortoises and rare bird species along the way). A mere 3km away from there is Fregate Island, known especially for its chelonian inhabitants.

Stretching 16 km from Woods Hole to North Falmouth, the Shining Sea Bikeway is a picturesque trail that showcases the best of Cape Cod’s natural beauty. This paved path winds through salt marshes, cranberry bogs, serene woodlands, and along breathtaking coastal vistas. Bike rentals are conveniently available at both ends, making it easy to hop on and explore whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider.
