Perhaps the city's most iconic landmark, this impressive palace dates back to 1872 and is a must for any visit to Dhaka. Renovations in the 1980s have left all 23 rooms just as they looked at their most luxurious and grandiose, and a walk through the palace is like a trip through time. A standout feature is the enormous elephant skull, a former Nawab's favourite.

You’ll find an indoor market hall in various world-class cities, but the combination with luxury housing makes Rotterdam’s Market Hall (MVRDV & INBO, 2014) the first of its kind. The apartments are arched over the food market in a horseshoe configuration. If you look up you will see the biggest artwork in the Netherlands, the wall painting the Horn of Plenty.

The courthouse takes one on a journey through the history of St. Louis, Missouri and the United States. A number of cases tried here eventually led to events that changed the course of American and world history, most notably the Dred Scott case, which ruled that slaves and their descendants were not protected by the US Constitution -- this later fuelled abolishing slavery altogether.

The Royal Place is a graceful building with an impressive facade of 80 hectare, and its seven 80 feet high doors symbolise the seven days of the week. Although the palace is not open to public, it is worth the visit for an astonishing view onto itsoutstanding structure.
