Even though many of us long for the sun, it can get too hot here in Nice. Palais Lascaris is a perfect escape from the heat. This baroque-style aristocratic residence now houses a museum dedicated to the art and music of the 17th and 18th centuries. The palace, built for the Lascaris Vintimille family in the mid-17th century, features a monumental staircase, frescoes, and luxuriously decorated salons. Visitors can explore the reception apartments, which boast frescoes depicting mythological themes, stucco work from the late 17th century, and a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, furniture, objets d'art, and tapestries. The palace also houses a remarkable collection of antique musical instruments, including a prestigious deposit from the Institut de France.

This fabulous walking trail on the southern end of Yeongdo Island, just off the coast of mainland Busan, runs along a rugged coastline of scenic cliffs. Bring sturdy walking shoes if you're planning a hike (it should take anywhere between 1 and 3 hours, depending on your speed and stops), or opt for the tourist train that makes stops at all major attractions and lookout points.

The Luminous Lagoon, just a short drive east of Montego Bay, is one of the few places in the world where the so-called "glistening waters" can be observed. At night, the waters of the lagoon light up with shining cerulean lights, forged by movement of rare microorganisms inhabiting its floor. Guided tours with a stop for bathing depart from the Glistening Waters Marina.

Only an hour's drive from Melbourne is the Mornington Peninsula. Here you can visit wineries, some of the finest beaches, hot springs and even swim with dolphins. The peninsula is also home to a few incredible art galleries, as well as glass-blowing workshops.
