Hamburg Cruise Days

Look forward to a superlative cruise ship event from August 1 - 3, 2014: the Hamburg Cruise Days offer impressive ships at close quarters and live cruise feeling – a stunning three days simply packed with maritime atmosphere, delicious food and drink, and great entertainment. Six cruise ships will be calling in on Hamburg during the Hamburg Cruise Days to anchor in the port. The Blue Port illuminations by artist Michael Batz will bathe the harbour in a magical blue light, the dockside itself will become a cruise experience, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed stroll through different themed islands with culinary highlights prepared by some of the city’s best restaurants.

UNESCO World Heritage

What does the Taj Mahal in India, the Peruvian Inka city of Machu Picchu and the Great Pyramids of Giza have in common with Hamburg? They all belong to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. On 5 July 2015, the Hamburg ensemble ‘Speicherstadt and Kontorhaus District with Chilehaus’ has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, making it one of the world’s 1.031 ‘masterpieces of human creation with outstanding universal value’.

As early as in the 19th century, Heidelberg cast its spell on poets such as Joseph von Eichendorff and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe with its romantic charisma. It was immortalized in many publications. The Voyage à Nantes is a poetic urban trail along a green line designed on the pavement of the city of Nantes. Artists, designers, gardeners, cooks, DJs and graffiti artists are invited to express their creativity in public spaces. With 40 amazing steps to link up the whole cultural package, the town goes a little bit further off-beat than normal. Must see: the ephemeral installations, the works of art. Must experience: the places where it’s good to meet, coming together unexpectedly. Must try: the local produce grown in town centre vegetable gardens or cooked at a secret dinner.
