While the University of Bucharest Square saw some of the darkest days of Ceausescu’s regime, events at the Revolution Square heralded the beginning of a new age. Close by is the former Royal Palace, now home to the National Art Museum, the Romanian Athenaeum and the Athenee Palace Hotel.

The Moselle Valley wine region spans France, Luxembourg, and Germany, with wineries closest to Luxembourg City located within less than a half-hour's drive from there. The scenic river valley offers abundant wine-tasting opportunities for Riesling and Elbling aficionados; tastings can be arranged at most local wineries, but contacting in advance to check for availability is recommended. The region is also excellent hiking grounds, with hiking trails and cycling paths, with boat tours running along the Moselle.

Set in the foothills of the picturesque Eungella Range, walking tracks lead to deep natural swimming holes amid tropical rainforest. See the Araluen and Wheel of Fire waterfalls and for a truly unique experience go forest flying through the treetops of the rainforest. Miffy's traffic light is just a piece of the puzzle in this Dutch rabbit's world. To take a look at the whole picture, Miffy has had her own dedicated museum in Utrecht since 2016. If you are visiting the city with kids, more specifically, toddlers and pre-schoolers, the Nijntje Museum is what you need. The museum consists of ten thematic spaces inspired by Dick Bruna's picture books, allowing children to interact with the world around them in an educational manner.
