Laxtrapporna marks the site of the 1767 sawmill, Nya Mölla. Now, a waterfall here powers a hydroelectric plant, offering a serene setting for picnics and summer swims in the fish ladder. With convenient parking and bike access right up to the waterfall, it's an ideal starting point for Munka Möllestig, a scenic trail along the river.

Portland owes its CNN-given title of "home to the world's best street food" to a unique phenomenon: the so-called "food cart pods" — clusters of food trucks and stalls that enjoy a semi-permanent location and often have a shared dining area with tables and seats. With several hundred food carts, the variety of cuisines represented is truly impressive, with tiny kitchens cooking up anything from classic Americana burgers to Korean-style tacos. Monheim house, a remodelled 17th century pharmacy, has housed the collection of Couven Museum since 1958. Showcasing Directoire, Empire, and Biedermeier-style period rooms, it also features a historic pharmacy, kitchen, and porcelain tiles collection.
