Beach access is available at the following locations: Alder Lane Beach Access, off South Forest Beach Drive; Coligny Beach Park, off Coligny Circle; Fish Haul Park, at the end of Beach City Road; Driessen Beach Park, at the end of Bradley Beach Road; Burkes Beach Access, at the end of Burkes Beach Road; Folly Field Beach Park, off Folly Field Road; and Islanders Beach Park, off Folly Field Road. Hilton Head Island also has several wheelchair-friendly beaches: Alder Lane Beach, Coligny Beach Park, Driessen Beach Park, Folly Field Beach Park, and Islanders Beach Park.

Kayaking and Canoeing

Hilton Head Outfitters, located at the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort and on 11 miles of lagoon, is the perfect place to get ready for a day of kayaking or canoeing. Several types of kayaks, including one person and two person makes, are available. They also have canoes for two or three people for rent. Along with providing kayaks and canoes, Hilton Head Outfitters offers bike rentals, boat rentals, and fishing. It is a very family-friendly place and a wonderful way to see the island.
