Airport

Asturias (Oviedo) Airport is approximately 14 km (8 miles) west of Aviles and 48 km (30 miles) north of Oviedo on the N642 highway. There are regular coach services between the airport and Oviedo, Aviles and Gijon.

One-way ticket to Avilés costs €2.60 (€4.95 with return ticket). The taxi rank is located outside the terminal. Approximate prices: Oviedo or Gijon €40, Avilés €17.

RENFE (Spanish Railways) has a comprehensive network of inter-city and local trains linking Oviedo with Aviles, Gijon and with most other towns and villages in Asturias.

Taxi

Within central Oviedo, Aviles and Gijon the easiest way to get around is on foot, as the historic central areas of all three towns are largely pedestrian-only. For longer urban journeys, taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. A taxi across Oviedo costs around €6.
