Ireland’s passport and visa requirements vary for different nationalities. Citizens of the United Kingdom and EU countries (including Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein), need a passport or a valid ID. The rest of the citizens of other countries will need a passport. Many countries, including the United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Australia, and New Zealand, benefit from visa-free entry for tourism short stays of up to 90 days maximum. For those requiring a short-stay visa (valid for 3 months maximum), such as travellers from some Middle-East, African or Asian nations, the visa must be obtained prior to arrival. All travellers should ensure their passport is valid for at least three months beyond their intended stay. Located approximately 6 kilometres south of Cork, Cork Airport is the second-largest of the three principal international airports in Ireland. Travelling from Cork Airport to the city centre is convenient with the Bus Éireann 225 or 226 buses, which take approximately 20 minutes to reach Parnell Place Bus Station, the city's main bus hub. Tickets can be acquired on the bus, at the ticket machine outside the terminal at the bus stop, or through the TFI Go App. For those who prefer taxis, a taxi rank is conveniently situated just outside the terminal building.

If you intend to rent a car when you’re in Ireland, make sure to familiarise yourself with the Irish road rules. In particular pay attention to the speed limits: 120km/h on motorways; 100km/h on national roads; 80km/h on regional and local roads; and 50km/h in a built-up area. Also note that, unlike in other countries, you'll be driving on the left-hand side of the road.
