Studentski Grad
The guide was updated:Although Sofia’s city centre offers plenty of bars and clubs, there is much more to discover beyond it. For a truly Bulgarian nightlife experience, head to Studentski Grad. It’s a bit far from the centre, but the trip is well worth it. As the name suggests, this district is home to most of the city’s university campuses, giving it a youthful, energetic atmosphere.
Most nightclubs here play chalga, a popular Bulgarian folk-pop genre, accompanied by dancers, light shows and large, lively crowds. Some of the most popular venues include Club Eleven Sofia, Club 33 and Club Conte.
Be aware that dress codes are fairly strict, especially for men, so make sure to dress smartly to avoid being denied entry.
