Mjellby Konstmuseum – Halmstad Group’s Museum

At Mjellby Art Museum, there is a big collection of art of the Halmstad Group. This enables the museum to present exhibitions that highlight their pioneering works from the Swedish art history in the 20s and 30s, but also to give new insights and less known perspectives on the history of the group. There are also temporary exhibitions with focus on modernism and its tracks. The museum emanates often from topics like gender, norms, society and politics when they produce exhibitions – not seldom in collaboration with researchers. Alongside the art itself, there is even a workshop for children, a café and a shop, where you can buy, amongst others, art books accompanying the museum’s exhibitions.

Halland’s Art Museum is located beautifully by Nissan and Norre Katts Park in central Halmstad. The museum is now closed for renovation and extension. Meanwhile, the public section continues with programs and exhibitions elsewhere in the county. The museum includes also the open-air museum Hallandsgården, where you can find old buildings from all parts of Halland. Here you can experience bygone times and competent guides show both adults and kids round.
