Since 2015, the Heidelberg street art festival METROPOLINK has been changing the city's image. By now, curator Pascal Baumgärtner has brought more than 50 renowned artists from all over the world to the city, including stars of the scene such as Bordalo II, Hendrik Beikirch, Sam3 and Herakut. House fronts are transformed into works of art.
The festival, under the patronage of Heidelberg's Lord Mayor Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, is tightly connected with the city's development. METROPOLINK understands artistic interventions in public space as a possibility to win it back for the community. Public exchange is not only possible, but desired, and the visual context is meant to ease the bridging of cultural gaps
