Schmiedgasse

Leading from the Hauptplatz (main square) to Joanneumring, Schmiedgasse is mainly a pedestrian zone, and a popular shopping area with many small shops and bars. Centuries ago, the street was home to craftsmen, blacksmiths, wainwrights, tinners and gunsmiths. Today, Schmiedgasse - parallel to Herrengasse - offers a historic ambience in which to shop and stroll with friends.

Farmer’s Markets

The best way to discover the lifestyle of the locals is a visit to the farmer’s markets on Kaiser-Josef-Platz and on Lendplatz.
