Jalan Thamrin

Jalan Thamrin is Jakarta’s main shopping artery, home to some of the city’s most iconic retail landmarks. Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia anchor the area with luxury brands, designer boutiques, and stylish cafés, while the recently revitalised Sarinah (Jakarta’s first department store) offers an array of Indonesian-made products, from batik to local coffee. For a more budget-friendly approach, Thamrin City Mall and nearby street markets are great for hunting down textiles, souvenirs, and traditional crafts.
