The graceful, whitewashed Groot Constantia manor is a magnificent example of 18th century Cape Dutch colonial architecture. It also happens to be the country's oldest wine producing estate, founded in 1685. They offer tours of the grounds, the museum and the cellar, as well as wine tastings, and have two top restaurants.

The 2.5-km-long Margaret Island between Buda and Pest makes for a perfect lazy day outside the bustling city centre. The island is home to a small zoo, an art nouveau water tower, medieval ruins, and a beloved musical fountain. It also offers an array of outdoor activities with jogging tracks, thermal spas, and swimming pools. During the summer, Margaret Island comes alive with bars, restaurants, and live music.

The Wall Museum is located in the basement of the "Casa del Paso" building, on the Salesas Campus of the Miguel Hernández University. It also houses an interesting and well organised archaeological site, set up after various stages of excavation between 1998 and 2000. Significant architectural heritage sites are well conserved: The town wall, four watchtowers dating back to the Almohad era (Designated Cultural sites since 14/12/1998), Arab baths, Islamic and early medieval streets and homes, a Gothic palace and architectural remains of the Casa del Paso (17th Century). Furthermore, remains dating back from the second half of the 12th Century to the 20th Century have been recovered. During the visit, around the perimeter path and glazed walkways, there is also a variety of complementary resources to help interpret the findings, such as display panels, scale models, signposts, display cases and a video.

This excellent museum in the colourful Bo Kaap district (formerly the city's Malay quarter) traces the history of Cape Town’s Islamic culture and heritage. The museum is furnished and decorated to depict the lifestyle of a 19th-century Muslim family.
