Every January, Helsinki’s city centre turns into an open-air gallery of light installations—most are free to walk around when daylight is at its shortest. Expect art pieces on well-known landmarks as well as surprise spots in courtyards and ferry terminals. It’s a popular event attracting around half a million people each year.
