Pointe Baptiste Chocolate Factory

A 90-minute drive from Roseau, in the north of the island, this quaint chocolate factory is found on an estate of 25 acres, in a cottage that also doubles as a guesthouse. Alan works exclusively with cocoa beans harvested in the area, and makes use of other Dominican treasures — ginger, coffee, lemongrass and more — to create chocolate bars that are a true reflection of the island's essence. Guided tours offer a glimpse into local history, while the delectable products make for great souvenirs.
