Ara Tapu Road

Along the coastal Ara Tapu Road on Rarotonga, you’ll discover a range of specialty shops offering jewellery, including the renowned black pearls, as well as handicrafts and local clothing. The Cook Islands’ colourful stamps are highly prized by collectors and philatelists, with the best place to purchase them being the Philatelic Bureau, conveniently located next to the Post Office in Avarua. For diving and snorkelling gear, visit Mana Court in downtown Avarua, where you’ll find a selection of equipment for your underwater adventures.
